|
| RULES OF PLAY |
| |
| In order to avoid discrepancies in "LOCAL" rules the
following, which are likely to be points concerned, will
apply: |
| |
1. 5 CARD CRIB - SINGLES
Cut for first box: Ace low, low takes. 3 holes are pegged
immediately by the player not
having the first box;this player will have the first box on the
second game. If necessary, cut for the first box of the third
game. The game is over 61 holes.
Pegging: Only up to "31" once e.g. King - Queen - 6 - No - No =
1 point for the go, and the remaining three cards are not
pegged.
Mixed runs to count e.g. 4 - 2 - 3 = 9 for 3; 6 - 2 - 3 - 5 - 4
= 20 for 5: it does not have to be 2 - 3 - 4, or 4- 3 - 2.
A Jack in the hand or box and a card of the same suit as the top
card scores "one for his hat".If the top card is a Jack, the
dealer scores " Two for doing it " UNLESS he/she wants only 2 or
1 hole(s) for the game, in which case the two points are NOT
taken.
Flushes: 3 cards of the same suit in the hand = 3 points;3 cards
of the same suit in the hand plus the top card = 4 points; BUT in
the box, ALL 5 cards must of the same suit to score 5 points.
|
2. DOUBLES CRIB
The game is over 121 holes.
The rules are as in Singles above except for Flushes, where the
extra card in the hand must also be of the same suit, and in
pegging where all (16) cards are played out.
Cards should be laid on the table for counting.
If a player mistakenly pegs backwards it is up to the players
concerned to agree where the peg should be.If they cannot agree
then they should consult their captains.Should the captains
disagree then the player who pegged backwards must put up with
their mistake and stay where they had pegged.Under no
circumstances should the opposition claim the game.Should an
opponent pull the pegs and "claim" the game then the player who
mistakenly pegged backwards shall be awarded that game.
SPECTATORS will " NOT" interfere with the game, either to
advise players, correct called scores, or correct pegging. A
PLAYER may correct his/her partner's called score in
Doubles. Once a score is pegged it can not be altered, except to
correct an over, or under-peg, when attention is drawn to it by
one of the PLAYERS.
Failure to comply with the above rule will result in the
offending team's player forfeiting that game.
Any queries, contact the Secretary of your Division.
In the event of any dispute not covered by the above, the matter
should be brought before the Committee within 14 days, whose
decision is final. If not received within 14 days, no dispute
exists.
